A hair nightmare #iPPP

I never had amazingly thick hair in my life. It's always been very thin and fine. Seriously, most babies are born with more hair than I have ever had.

While it was thin and fine, I always had enough that you couldn't tell.

Here is a picture of it in May 2005. Its on the very long side because I was growing it out for my wedding. But still, looks healthy and normal right?!

Until last June, when I went to put my hair into a ponytail and realized the small ponytail holder I was using wrapped around my ponytail 8 times! and probably could have gone more. (it used to only take 3 times around)

Oh how I cried and cried. How could I have not noticed!?

During pregnancy my hair NEVER got any thicker or grew any more than normal. On the plus side, my hair didn't fall out after pregnancy either. At least not the first time. I think after having Jensen is when my hair started falling out. I just never noticed.

So after talking to some people (my cousin's who are hair dressers, and my doctor) I started taking Biotin. Well a vitamin called Hair, Skin and Nails has biotin in it. I also found some shampoo with biotin in it, and have since used that.

I decided that with all the new growth (Yay!) the few strands of hair left over was looking horrible. So today I went to get a haircut. I asked for it to be chin length, but after she started cutting said it would look better if I just cut it down to all the new growth.

(I am horrible at taking selfies! Seriously bad!)

This is what happened. It's so short! I am not a fan of it at all. But it does look so much thicker and fuller. On that note, this is all the growth since I started taking the biotin in August. It's a lot of hair! (well for me anyways! Especially compared to what I had!) Hopefully it will grow out faster and look like it once did

Happy Birthday Husband #iPPP

Today is adorable little boy's birthday

According to Facebook he is turning 22. Of course he's not turning 22, but we'll let him think so right?

This is the 11th birthday I have celebrated with him. And of course I love him more today than I did 11 years ago.

My husband is amazing. My partner in crime. One of the only people that really gets me. He knows when I am upset, sometimes even before I do. He works harder than anyone I know. I love his sense of humor.

He is also an amazing father. He has more patience that I could EVER have. He rarely gets angry (unlike me and my short temper)

And although we are complete opposites, he is truly the peanut butter to my jelly!

So Happy Birthday Husband! You are a wonderful husband and father!

Monday Listicles - 10 random things

I finally get myself somewhat together and decide to get back to doing Monday Listicles with Stasha at Northwest Mommy.

Surprise it's a list of 10 random things!

So how about 10 thoughts floating around my head right now

1. I hope I don't get the stomach bug Jakah has
2. Must remember to by nylons and a wedding card for the wedding I am in on Saturday. OMG where do you buy nylons? And where did Jensen hide those stupid sticker bras?
3. Jensen better be napping and not playing with toys
4. What in the world am I going to make for dinner?
5. Why must the dog always lay in the mud before she comes in the house?
6. Did I remember to send out all Jakah's birthday party invitations?
7. Oh look! Christmas cards I forgot to mail
8. Is it to late to make more coffee?
9. Are the boys going to behave during the wedding rehearsal and dinner Friday?
10. Is it time for bed yet?

There you have it, 10 random thoughts! Can you tell I'm going to be in a wedding this weekend? I am so excited for a night away from kids!

Tune in next week for another round of Listicles!

Every Fireman needs a fire truck #iPPP

The time has come to move Jakah out of a toddler bed and into a big boy bed. Since we are still dealing with potty training, we told him he could work towards any kind of bed he wanted. He worked hard, and had only two accidents for the whole month of November (that's including nights).

After looking on pinterest, he fell in love with this fire truck bed
 Fire truck Bed

After much debate between my husband and I, we decided that in order for him to have this bed, we would have to build it in his room, paint it in his room, and it would never move or leave his room.
So instead I found this tent at Kmart of all places. (it was $60 on Amazon or $35 at Kmart) I don't know about where you live, but there are almost no Kmart's here, and the ones here are in the ghetto. Ok maybe not the real ghetto, but in a really crappy part of town, and they are really run down.

We have my old bunk bed set from when I was a kid. So my husband bought longer legs for it and turned it into a loft bed. We painted it red, I found this tent kit. I ended up having to sew longer strings onto it for it to tie onto the wood. I found red sheets and a black and silver comforter. Because honestly all the fire truck bedding was either for a toddler bed or ridiculously expensive (or maybe I'm just cheap) My husband is still looking for flashing lights to put on it also.

Either way,

My son LOVES it.

He will only sleep inside the fire truck though. The first night we went in to take him to the bathroom and found this

Rough night for the fireman I guess!

Even the dog loves the fire truck! Seriously she goes in there and hides. The boys think its awesome

If you need me I'll be hiding out in the fire truck with Stitch!

Unfashionably late to 2014

Happy 2014!!!

Oh, it's been 2014 for 7 days now? Silly me, always late to the party!

My husband was on "Christmas Break".... so like the kids in our neighborhood, he had 2 weeks off of work. If you would like to see all the pictures from our break follow me on Instagram!

Which was great, except I got nothing useful done! But we had a lot of play time! Oh and a few holidays to celebrate in between. Nothing like three Christmas's in 24 hours, and then a family Bunco game. My boys were of course spoiled beyond reason. Jakah was pretty excited because he asked Santa for a red remote control train and that's what Santa brought him.

Of course there was New Year's in there too. Where we went to the neighbor's party where we didn't know a single soul. We were trying to step out of our comfort zone and maybe meet some new people. We left 2 hours into it. We had Jensen with us and he was ready to go to bed. And after meeting people there that we had nothing in common with we were ready to go home. So we watched movies and drank. (there was no alcohol at the party!?)

Anyways I am hoping that for 2014 I can get back to blogging more. I've missed it! And Jakah does / says some pretty funny stuff now that needs to be shared with the world.

Also for 2014, there will be some changes to this little ol' blog. I've got a new name in mind. Hopefully sharing recipes more often. And just being here more!

Happy 2014!
